Bullying Burke?

Stories are circulating that the Obama administration is putting pressure on Vatican officials to muzzle Archbishop Raymond Burke.

Archbishop Burke famously offered pastoral counseling on Church teaching to then- KS Governor Kathleen Sebelius, who identifies herself as a Roman Catholic, because of her adamantly pro-abortion stance and close association with notorious late-term abortionist Dr. George Tiller. Sebelius refused, and Burke asked her to refrain from presenting herself for communion because of her insistence on persisting in serious sin.

President Obama later nominated Sebelius to his cabinet, as Secretary of Health and Human Services. It would be very important for him to have someone who shares his pro-death ideology in this position as this agency oversees all things related to abortion.

Archbishop Burke called Sebelius' nomination the 'source of greatest embarrassment '.

Such statements aren't made lightly.

Formerly the Archbishop of St. Louis, Archbishop Burke is now Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura. This is the Vatican's equivalent of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Archbishop Burke certainly knows Canon Law.

He is unlikely to be intimidated by the Obama Administration.

Maybe their efforts are better spent silencing others.
