Et Tu, Georgetown?

What is it with 'Catholic' universities these days?

There are a lot of other things that my HappyToBeCatholic self would prefer to write about, but I find myself again confronted with a prestigious Catholic university honoring an undeniably pro-abortion elected official in a big way.

This time it is Georgetown, and they are honoring Vice President Joe Biden.

This is every bit as bad as the Notre Dame scandal.

Consider the following:

Biden is Obama's VP. I don't care what he says about his personal feelings about abortion, he is second in command in the most radically pro-abortion administration our country has ever seen.

Biden professes to be Catholic, yet maintains a pro-life political position despite admonition from Church authorities. Obama is not Catholic.

Georgetown is violating the USCCB 'Catholics in Political Life' directive. "...Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions."

Georgetown is bestowing the "Legal Momentum Hero' award on Biden tomorrow at a symposium celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

Cruel irony there. Abortion is the ultimate act of violence against a woman and her unborn child.
Please pray for all involved.
