No Easter Statement from the White House this year. No mention of Good Friday either.
They did manage to eke out an eight-paragraph tribute in honor of Earth Day, which fell on Good Friday, April 22nd.
Lest anyone think the hearts at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue have hardened to all things religious, fear not.
According to the White House Dossier blog, Fox News noted "...By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha."
Coincidentally, or perhaps not, the image at right is an actual photograph of the White House appearing to be struck by lightning this Easter Sunday.
